Contract
Regarding the
Use of Technology, Computers, and the Internet
I
realize that the primary purpose of the Briggs Elementary School District computers, Internet connections,
visual media, and/or recording devices is to promote educational excellence by
facilitating resource sharing, innovation, and communication.
PRIVILEGES. The use of the information system is a
privilege, not a right, and inappropriate use will result in cancellations of
those privileges. Each person who
receives an account will participate in a discussion with a Briggs
Elementary School District faculty member as to proper behavior and
use of the network. The District System
administrator(s) will decide what is appropriate use and their decision is
final. The system administrator(s) may
close an account at any time if necessary.
The administrator, staff, or faculty of the District may request that
the system administrator deny, revoke, or suspend specific user accounts.
I
understand that if I violate this policy, damage, vandalize, or use technology
in inappropriate, illegal, or unethical ways, normal discipline policies will
apply and I could face consequences as minimal as a reprimand or as extreme as
expulsion (or employee dismissal). I
could be required to pay for damages.
Law enforcement could be notified and legal action could be brought
against me.
I
agree not to participate in the transfer of inappropriate or illegal materials
through the Briggs Elementary School
District computer, Internet
connections, visual media, and/or recording devices.
I
agree not to participate in the transfer of material, which may be considered
treasonous, subversive, or racist via the Briggs
Elementary School District computers, Internet connections, visual media,
and/or recording devices.
If
I am issued an account or password, I agree not to allow other individuals to
access my account or give anyone my password, or use another individuals’
account.
I
release the Briggs Elementary School
District and all other organizations related to the Briggs Elementary School District's
computer access, Internet connection, visual media, and/or recording devices
form any liability or damages that may result from my use of these
technologies. I will accept full
responsibility and liability for the results of my actions with regard to the
use of computers, Internet connections, visual media, and/or recording devices.
I
have read, understand, and agree to abide by the conditions of this contract
and the Briggs Elementary School District Technology, Computer & Internet Acceptable Use Policy now and
in the future.
